LCD Vfinder

Power is back on, snow is gone and all is good. I will post my last weeks images tomorrow. Todays shot: A buddy lent me his hoodman LCD vfinder and I ordered my Carry Speed LCD that came in today. The hoodman is the much smaller one. I will review these and let you know what I think. If you do any kind of video with your dslr you need something like this to check focus.

Soft light

DNB, here is my video on what the Octobox looks like next to a human, that would be me, and some shots used with it. The above shot was taken with my octobox. Also with this shot I used lightroom to edit the image. I own lightroom 2 and have not used it much as I still don't understand the whole catalog, import, export thing. That is one of the things on my bucket list this year. I will learn this program, I will learn this program...

Octobox set up on counter

Hopefully I will have enough energy tomorrow to set this up and show what it can do. 80CM Octobox is just shy of 3 feet across. A good size as it packs a powerful, soft light.

Lightroom 4 beta

I love the video feature. Oh, and the photo feature isn't so bad either ;)

You want soft light?

A great deal for an 80cm Octobox. You would be hard pressed to find one of these for less than 100 dollars. This one was only 33.00. I will put together a behind the scenes video on what it looks like set up. Stay tuned tomorrow.

Piercing of the Heart

After much effort, it still isn't perfect but close enough, I have posted my trailor for my feature film ;) GO to the youtube site for a full writeup and feel free to like and subscribe :)
I used Adobe PhotoShop CS5, Adobe Premiere CS5, audacity (a free audio program that I highly recommend), and my DSLR to film the entire short. and an idea in my head. Oh I almost forgot, used Free Play Music for the sound track.

Cup O'Joe

Played with light tonight. My k5 was sent in for repair today so I pulled out my k7. Shot at f 1.4 with my pentax 1.4 niffty fifty, ISO 200 and 1/100 second.

My Christmas lights played the roll of the steam, and hung them from my manfrotto 550 tripod. I shot with my Pentax 540 speedlight at 1/16 power, with a rogue Grid attached. Nice to use a professional modifier as I have always had a DIY honeycomb grid.
