Gymnastics

Took My daughter to Gymnastics today. She then got real tired and sick. I passed this nasty flu on to her :(

What is this? My 4th of the year? Only 7 more to go. I captured another schools lockers. This school has the old gray coloerd lockers that most of us grew up with. However, this is a fairly new school and for some reason chose gray for the locker color. a very empty time just before the first bell rang and the kids filled the halls.

Reflection

A glass half full creates an interesting reflection. Trying to come up with a shot today. My cold is still hanging on and coughed all night. I hope to get a better night sleep and drinking this glass of water should do the trick.

Moonlight in the morning

Turn the Lights out!!!

After bailing myself out last night ;) I went home to a flurry of lights on. My pet peeve is lights on that are not being used, TV left on, or running water not being wasted down the drain. The light was on for several seconds before I got up to turn it off.

GOT LUGGAGE?

Leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again....well I do but it was a catchy toon in the day. We packed the last few nights and are ready to leave tonight. Beautiful day outside today, much different than yesterdays snow. Maybe I will get A shot of my aunts Bulls/cows this week?

Snowing again

Looking for a place to duck and hide and gain some warmth from the cold I found this secluded shelter in a narrow hallway in an abandoned building. The trash can smelled of old cigars and a fruitful smell of what I might call old fish. Old rappers and a cardboard box that look like it might have been shelter for the homeless man that walks the street near the building. The broken window must have been patched by the workers across the street building the section 8 housing that is being built in this neighborhood. A sign just outside these doors lists a construction company that appears to be building more housing where this building stands. It is set for demolation in early March.

It came down hard here today. Snowed for most of the morning and afternoon and turned to slush by late afternoon. It is currently 38 degrees outside at 9pm PST and I hope we don't wake up to an ice rink in the morning. This was taken during my 5 min lunch break today. Busy busy busy.

Knife Juggler

I decided to try my skills in juggling knives and took out the block of cutlery. Looking at my possiblities of hurting myself a little or hurting myself a lot, I thought better of it and took a picture instead. Next week juggling marshmellows?

My mom told me not to play with water

When I was a kid my mom told me not to play with water, that it could be very dangerous. Bad things could happen, like I could burn the house down, lite my hair on fire, or even worse burn myself cooking.....Or was that don't play with matches? I forget, but I do know one thing, I can't cook but I wash a mean pot and pan, so I did play with water tonight.

This was fun for me tonight and I did some PP in Photoshop to turn most of the background and the main drop to b&w. The OOF drop and cup I brought back into color. I also changed to vivid light to give it a grunge look.

Film Noir (tough theme)

I had to work hard at this one. Took about 30 shots and this was on the early set. Here and here are 2 others that I liked but did not post tonight. My setup was flash at 1/4 45 degrees camera left. AB400 camera right both shooting slightly behind subject. Foam core for fill light camera left, and I did not crop out as I liked the shadow.

Down to crunch time today. I pulled my camera out about 9pm and started walking around the downstairs living area and thought long and hard, well not that long, about this shot. Took 5 shots of this arrangement and picked this one. Tight shot and used onboard flash.

The economy

I read today that if you bought your house in 2007 and sold it the end of 2008 you would have lost an avg of 100,000 on your purchase. Big bummer, and we have a long way to dig ourselves out of this hole. Here is an abandoned business on the East side of town. I wonder what they sold in the building? The recession has hit hard.

Read a novel

Had another late night teaching photosphop tonight and when I got home I had the sheetrocker guy on the phone and my daughter clinging to my leg for my attention, well not really but it sounded dramatic so I thought I would add that daughter part. I did, however, realized I had not taken a picture yet so I walked around the living room and decided on this setup. I cropped tight after taking the shot and used my off camera flash to light the subject.

Tommorrow I get an outdoor shot, the weather has been great and need to show the PNW sunshine in February.

Late night at the office

Working and getting things done on the couch tonight. I needed to get a shot in before going to bed. An early work day in the morning. So I tied up loose ends and then played with the camera some toinght. Took out my 540 and pocketwizards. Final result was not the best but I was getting real tired and settled for this.

Do you think she is happy?

What a happy girl. Not a care in the world. We saw Madagascar II today before the superbowl. Came home watched the game, great game by the way, much more interesting than I thought it would be. Now we are ready for the work week.
