One Shot

I have taken at least 2 shots a day for the last 453 days. Of those days this is the first day I only took ONE shot. This was the shot. I did it on purpose. Just one snap. We are remodeling our 3 bathrooms. They are all torn apart and we are hoping they are put back together by easter.

This ws my first prime lens, well it was also my first lens. It is 35 years old. I came attached to my Pentax k1000. Manual focus f2. What was better than that in the day?

I was playing with displacement mapping today in Photoshop and took a shot of a t-shirt. I wanted to see how well I could drop a logo on and see how realistic I could get it. What do you think?

I shot this with a buddy of mine on Friday. I felt things went off real well and and the water balloon shot was most definitely a tag team effort. I popped the balloon full of water while Adam set the camera and flashed in motion. It sets up for a most dramatic effect. Hand in focus while getting Diago OOF. Click on image for a larger view.

Big Guns

The authorities are tired of playing around. They are sending out the big guns. Call him what you want, hired hit man, vigilante vermin, bossman bob, cool collector. He has been hired to find Jackson once and for all. I would not want to run into this mobster of mayhem in a dark alley. Breakout final chapter?

Halloween come early

These pictures were drummed up recently. They are said to be of Jason Jackson as a kid, thus the tie to the Feb 21st post. Jackson was a well known athlete in his day. Seeing these pictures of his early promo shots to get him a scholarship to Texas, LSU, or USC to play baseball and his stepping stone to the majors is what he was looking for.

Stadium Music

Police re-visit the Stadium Hotel for clues. In the basement they find an interesting rare sheet of music that appears to have been purchase at Jackson's last place of employment. Sheet music is "Don't shoot me, I am only a piano player" Which rockin 70's dude sang this song? Ironic? Worked in a piano store, loved music, name of song? hmmmmm

It was fun putting this shot together. The sheet music is actually pure white that I had to dummy down to my old school yellow in photoshop. I added a grunge look background/overlay and came up with my final result.

I am teaching Middle school kids the art of Photography, or trying anyhow. They did a great job in the Manual mode today and are catching on the what setting need to be adjusted to get the right shot. And its amazing to learn from these kids as well. The shadow is perfect and not sure I have ever seen this before. And I can see all my readers now, all 3 of you holding your hands up trying to configure your fingers to this position LOL.

Just when we thought it was ending (or more like, we wish it was ending). A Jackson friend? Acquaintance? Enemy? Authorities want to question this man as to his relationship with Jackson. He is not wanted at this time but is a person of interest. If you have seen this man please call your local police station. Do you see initials in the image? Is this a clue?

I love working with negative space. I took pictures of the department today. Doug's shot was a bit gritty/grunge look. I took the shot on a black background and played in the channels panel in CS4 to mask him from the background and replace it with a white sort of wannabe high key but not.

41st anniversary

Waste management CEO Jack bootha and wife Debbie both pictured on the right throw an intimate dinner party to celebrate the companies 41st year in the green. Is this one reason Jackson is upset? Jack was once thought to be missing or dead, but he turned up unharmed and still running the show.

Time waits for no one

No time like the present. Does anyone really know what time it is. Time is money. A moment in time...and it goes on and on. Jackson's time is winding down and his capture is emanate.

School converted to prison

This intermediate school was converted to a prison 10 years ago and is now home to Jackson's former cell inmate Eric. Eric is in for 10 for stuffing parking meters with the Bellingham bubble gum. Eric says he puts nothing past Jason. He thinks the main danger with with Jackson is Dumpster diving. We need to keep focused on why we are chasing this man. His waste management problems have him running from the law.

Lockers

The stakeout is on. The authorities are setting up under cover officers to nab Jackson when he returns to this locker. It is located across the street from the Stadium Hotel. Something of value is locked in this storage box. Tune in tomorrow.

High Rise Apartment

Jackson has been spotted in many of the uptown restaurants, nightclubs, and smoke shops. Authorities seem to be one step behind him. He is spotted here in a plush Queen Ann high rise. He appears in this photo as a bit nervous peering out the window as if looking for something.

My remote did not want to shoot through the glass so I had to set the camera to my 12 second timer. I then had to run from my camera to the door which is on the other end of the house and get to my spot before the flash went off. The nice thing about it was if the flash went off and I was in my spot I knew I was golden...which of course I did not make twice. I took a total of 6 shots, 4 useable ones. I picked this one for my shot of the day.
